"Though I'm a big boy already, I have not organized cultural evenings on the occasions of different anniversaries so far. This is the first time I stand before you all not as an actor but as a common man who is one of you and is your creation" said popular comedian and stage director Michael Poghosian as a gratitude for the Prince Claus Awards 2005 in Netherlands. The Prince Claus Fund has been distributing awards since 1996 to spur development of culture and art all over the world.

"Humor and Satire" was the theme in 2005. Strangely enough Michael Poghosian learn about his participation in the event only after becoming a prize winner; the application for participation was sent to the jury by his friend photographer Ruben Mangasarian. The Principal Award of € 100,000 is presented during a festive ceremony at the Royal Palace in Amsterdam in December every year. The additional awards of € 25,000 each are presented in the Dutch embassies in the countries where the recipients live in December and January.
This was the first time an Armenian artist presented our national humor to the world.
